LOS CINCO SOLES
Located at the end of the waterfront, Los Cinco Soles is a famous Cozumel storefront selling much more than souvenirs. The owners lovingly converted an old warehouse into a treasure of combined Mexican’s handicrafts from all over Mexico’s pueblos. The entire shop sings of Mexico’s culture, flavors and history from the Spanish style arches to the Tequila tasting bar. Tucked into the gorgeous stone walls are collections of iconic Mexican gifts from handcrafted Talavera, sterling silver and hand sewn embroidery to Onyx and pottery, this store is an island treasure of the county’s most beautiful handcrafts in one convenient location. The buyers literally scout out the best artisans from all over the country and gather them in an array of beauty to boast “All of Mexico under one roof!”

PANCHOS BACKYARD

Located just north of Los Cinco Soles is a quaint restaurant serving the absolute finest Mexican food on the island. Poncho’s is an open aired restaurant, surrounded by a tranquil garden and water feature to bring peace to the meal of tabletop barbecue steak, shrimp skewers or roasted chicken. Their menu is traditional Mexican yet slightly edgy for the food adventurist, and completely delicious. It is an excellent, calm location away from the tourists and a beautiful place to gather with friends. Poncho’s margaritas are literally the very best on island!
House guests receive a special discount of 10% off the meal o a free appetizer.

BUCCANOS

Buccano’s, hand-down a family favorite, boasts gorgeous Caribbean blue water and a plethora of fish. Located on the north end of the island, past the airport road, Buccano’s is a perfect way to relax and enjoy the beauty of Cozumel. Entrance is $150 pesos which can later be applied to the restaurant bill. Buccano’s is best enjoyed in the afternoon when the cruise ship tourists have started to return to their ships and the beach is virtually empty. The best snorkeling, filled with brightly colored fish and an occasional sting ray or barracuda is found to the south of the beach club off the pier. Simply jump in and float the current back into the bay, a perfect lazy snorkel! Buccano’s beach club has the best nachos and fish tacos. The restaurant is also open at night and is a family favorite.

THE EAST SIDE
Also known as the Other Side, the East Side of the island is a local favorite as well as most frequently visited beach. There are several beach clubs to choose from: Mezcalitos, Chen Rio, Playa Bonita, San Martin, but most prefer the crystal waters, gentle waves and a beach free from people and pressures. Surf can be as calm as a swimming pool or swells large enough for long boarding, depending on the day. Please use caution and avoid swimming in areas marked as dangerous. Current can be strong on the other side and not recommended for non-swimmers. However, with caution, it is definitely recommended to bring beach chairs, umbrella and cooler with drinks and visit the other side to enjoy the gentle waves in the clear, warm waters of Cozumel island.

MONEY BAR

Money Bar is a snorkeling favorite with a low-key, no-hassle beach club and bar, showers and plenty of beach chairs to watch the boats just off the reef. Located south of town about 3 miles, Money Bar is a perfect location for snorkeling, lunch, snacks or sunset drinks. Snorkeling is safe and easy with a ramp entrance and map to show the best route for the current. It’s a fantastic location to teach new snorkelers. Money Bar has amazing nachos and hamburgers, plus live bands every Friday night.
